Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to both the großkreis website (grosskreis.ricardoboss.de) and the großkreis app — the native builds for desktop and mobile as well as the hosted web build at grosskreis-app.ricardoboss.de. It explains what personal data is processed and how it is handled. Controller in the sense of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is Ricardo Boss, reachable at [email protected] (see also the imprint). großkreis is a private, non-commercial hobby project.

Summary

• No accounts, no tracking, no advertising.
• No analytics, no cookies set by großkreis itself, on the website or in the app.
• Flight plans created in the native app are stored locally on your device — we never see them.
• The web app is in-memory only — nothing persists after a reload.
• The only data we as the operator can see is standard server access logs from hosting.

Data we process when you visit this website

This site is delivered as static files. When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider automatically processes standard server log data, typically including:

• your IP address (truncated where possible),
• the date and time of the request,
• the URL of the requested resource,
• the HTTP status and transferred byte count,
• the referring URL and user agent string.

This data is processed on the legal basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in operating and securing the website). It is not combined with other data sources and is deleted or anonymised after a short retention period.

Cookies

This website does not set tracking cookies. Browsers may store standard technical preferences (e.g. theme) locally for your convenience; no such data is transmitted to us.

The großkreis app

The großkreis app is a planning tool that runs on your own device or in your browser. It does not require an account, does not phone home, and does not include any analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.

• Native builds (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) store your journeys in a local SQLite database on your device. Theme preferences are stored locally via the operating system's preference store. None of this data leaves your device.
• Web build (grosskreis-app.ricardoboss.de) keeps journeys in browser memory only. Reloading the page discards them. Nothing is sent to a server beyond the static files needed to load the app, and the same hosting access logs described above apply.

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your flight plans, aircraft data, waypoints, fuel figures, or any other content you enter into the app. Opening external links from within the app (for example this privacy policy or the imprint) hands control off to your operating system or browser, which may itself process the request according to its own rules.

The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive permission. Standard storage access is used only to read and write the local journey database and to save PDFs you explicitly export.

Third-party services

We do not embed third-party trackers, analytics, or social plug-ins. External links (for example to ricardoboss.de or to the app at grosskreis-app.ricardoboss.de) open separate sites; their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection regarding your personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because we process only minimal log data and no app content, requests typically only concern hosting logs. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the address in the imprint.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when functionality or legal requirements change. The current version is always available at this URL.
